The short version
These adoption pages set no cookies, run no analytics, and track nobody. The only personal information collected here is what you type into an inquiry form, and that goes to the shelter so they can reply to you.
Who is responsible for your information
Each shelter decides what to publish about its dogs and what to do with the inquiries it receives. Yard Drive provides the software and stores the data on the shelter's behalf. If you contact a shelter through this site, that shelter is responsible for how it uses your message.
What we collect
- Inquiries. Your name and email address, and optionally your phone number and message, when you send one from a dog's page.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records requests, including IP addresses, to keep the service running and to stop abuse. These are not linked to inquiries and are not used to build a profile of you.
There is no account to create, no advertising, no tracking pixel, and nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.
Who else sees it
Only the shelter you contacted, and the suppliers that run the service on our behalf: our database and hosting provider, our media storage provider, and our email provider, which delivers your message to the shelter. They act on our instructions and cannot use your information for their own purposes.
How long it is kept
Inquiries stay in the shelter's inbox until the shelter deletes them. Ask the shelter directly to have yours removed, or write to us at privacy@yarddrive.com and we will pass the request on.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the information held about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Contact the shelter, or us at privacy@yarddrive.com, and we will help.
Children
These pages are meant for adults enquiring about adopting an animal. Please do not send us information about a child.
